The Canadian Association of Agricultural Products Retailers (CAAR) has announced the appointment of a new executive director.
Myrna Grahn will join CAAR starting March 25th.
Mr. Grahn has more than 30 years of experience working with agriculture-related organizations and organizations. She recently led the Manitoba government’s strategy to attract investment in protein processing. Previously, she spearheaded industry-academia collaboration at the University of Manitoba’s Faculty of Agriculture and Food Sciences, and she has worked in various development and partnership roles in the Manitoba agriculture sector for over 18 years.
“Prior to joining CAAR, Myrna held senior leadership roles within major agricultural organizations, where she played a key role in driving growth, driving operational efficiency, and championing sustainable practices.” CAAR Board Member Chief Executive Stu Rasmussen said in an open letter announcing Grahn’s appointment. “Her strategic vision and her ability to forge meaningful partnerships have consistently propelled the organization toward success.”
Mr. Rasmussen said that under Mr. Grahn’s leadership, CAAR “will continue to champion initiatives that promote sustainability, innovation and prosperity, and champion the agricultural retail sector.”
CAAR is a member-driven, non-profit organization representing retailers in the crop input sector. The organization has more than 575 members representing retailers, suppliers, manufacturers, consultants and trade associations, according to his website for the organization.
