Australian fintech unicorn air wallex has launched Airwallex Impact, a global social impact program backed by a 1% equity stake currently valued at over USD 56 million.
This commitment ensures a sustainable source of funding as the company’s value grows and aligns Airwallex with the Pledge 1% movement.
The company, like Atlassian, Canva, Salesforce, Airbnb, Okta, Reddit, and others, dedicates its resources to social causes. Pledge 1% Movement,
Airwallex Impact will focus on providing scholarships, financial operations training, and startup incubation programs.
The company also Airwallex for Startups Programprovides resources and networking opportunities to over 2,000 startups around the world.
To date, Airwallex has hosted more than 50 events aimed at promoting startup success.
Additionally, Airwallex employees volunteer three days each year to contribute their expertise to community service and mentorship programs.
Two of those days will focus on services partnered with the Airwallex Impact initiative, and one day will be dedicated to a nonprofit organization of the employee’s choice.
The company has so far donated A$3 million to the University of Melbourne, funding 43 scholarships, with 56 per cent of recipients being international students.
An additional AU$150,000 grant provided financial aid to 65 students. Airwallex also provides grants and mentorship to early-stage startups, particularly in the AI and fintech space, and provides pro bono mentorship through Australia’s Techstars incubator program.
In mid-2025, Airwallex also plans to roll out a program to provide discounted products to select nonprofit organizations.
