Deutsche Bundesbank, Germany’s member state of the Eurosystem and Germany’s monetary authority from 1957 to 1998, brought its expertise to the project.
Launched in May 2022, Project Guardian brings together policymakers and key financial industry players to improve market liquidity and efficiency through the innovative use of technology.
Deutsche Bundesbank is conducting various pilots to test concrete use cases of asset tokenization, investigate its feasibility and potential benefits to capital markets, and consider how network effects can be leveraged. I plan to participate in the project.
As part of the policymaker group Project Guardian, Deutsche Bundesbank is working with other central banks and institutions to develop common standards and encourage cross-border cooperation by improving the interoperability of this emerging technology. Contribute to
The bank will also play a role in the asset and wealth management workstream, testing an interoperable blockchain platform for tokenized digital funds.
Project Guardian has three main goals. It is about creating an industry framework for asset tokenization, establishing policy guidelines and standards, and developing a robust and sustainable digital asset ecosystem with real-world applications.
