Obsession started in 2001 as a celebration of great food, wine, and meeting friends old and new. Although it has evolved since the first event, the spirit is still much the same. We offer our guests a completely memorable culinary experience created by some of the world’s most innovative chefs.
Lisa Goodwin Allen, Northcote Executive Chef said; “Obsession has an extraordinary history and I’ve felt privileged to have been part of that history from day one. Craig Bancroft and Nigel Howarth joined forces at Northcote in 2001. We introduced this amazing event, a concept that is unique to Britain and has shaped what Britain is today. We are proud to serve Obsession and are honored to lead the 25th anniversary of this special event.
“Over the years, I have watched many great chefs work their magic on the mountain passes and create everlasting memories for their guests. Obsession’s passion and excitement is contagious. Beyond great food, Obsession is an industry leader. A social gathering for professionals and food enthusiasts, Obsession25 is a special event and a major milestone for the team. And to celebrate, we’ve invited some of the world’s best chefs. The team is really excited to welcome them and create the magical energy that Obsession is famous for.”
Commenting on his involvement with Obsession25: Alan Roux, chef patron at Bray’s three-starred The Waterside Inn “I am very excited to be joining Northcote Obsession 25, especially preparing the grand finale dinner. It is an honor to share the kitchen with Chef Lisa Goodwin-Allen and be part of the 25th anniversary celebrations. We couldn’t be more excited to support this unique and iconic culinary event, which brings together so many talented chefs and hospitality professionals, while also raising valuable awareness and funds for charity. It’s a great showcase and it’s important to shine a spotlight on everything from London to Lancashire. We bring you some of my favorite winter dishes from the Waterside Inn, made with the finest British produce, and delicious French treats. We hope to satisfy our guests with several special menu items.”
Encapsulating the magnitude and legacy of obsession, Ivor Jones, Chef Patron of Chef’s Warehouse Beau Constantia, Cape Town “When Lisa asked me to be a part of this event, I fell off my chair. I’ve seen many of these chefs from afar in my life, and I don’t want to represent these amazing chefs. I never thought I’d be cooking at an event and I’m so grateful for this opportunity and really excited to be able to taste some great British produce. My favorite restaurant in South Africa. I’m going to make some dishes. Let’s goo goo.”
meanwhile Miller Prada, Executive Chef, Humo London “I’m so excited to be joining such a legendary event, Gastronomic Glastonbury. I can’t wait to bring Humo to Lancashire and cook with Chef Lisa alongside some of the world’s best chefs. We bring the Humo DNA to Obsession, cooking signature dishes with birch, juniper branches, oak, cedar wood and whiskey barrels, and sharing our philosophy with our guests… Every tree has its own personality.”
You can also enjoy a Louis Roederer Collection 242 Champagne reception and have the option to add a wine flight to your dinner.
