Major payment company visa announced its initiative to recognize and support digital creators as small and medium-sized enterprises at the Web Summit in Lisbon.
This allows creators to: access Visa’s financial tools, resources and products are now available, including programs such as business cards, payment management and practical business skills that were previously only available to traditional small businesses.
Visa also addressed the challenge of slow payments. A recent study by Visa found that this issue affects more than two-thirds of creators.
The company highlighted its Visa Direct service, which facilitates real-time payments through partnerships with social media networks and marketplaces.
Additionally, Visa expanded its partnership with Pharrell Williams to support his charities Black Ambition and YELLOW, providing financial literacy resources to YELLOW students.
These initiatives build on Visa’s existing programs, including GetP@id, a social series that educates creators on how to monetize their passions, and the upcoming Visa Creator Summit in Tokyo.
Hosted by industry leaders like Amplify, this summit provides guidance to aspiring and growing influencers as they advance their businesses.
