Hamdard Invests in SIG’s Aseptic Carton Technology to Meet Diverse Consumer Demands
Hamdard Laboratories India (Food Division), known for its health and wellness products and beverages, has partnered with SIG to leverage the company’s advanced aseptic carton packaging and filling solutions. SIG’s fast and flexible filling technology enables Hamdard to meet the changing consumer needs in terms of affordability, right size, long-lasting quality and convenience.
Hamdard selected a SIG XSlim 24 aseptic filling machine to operate at its manufacturing plant in Aurangabad, Maharashtra. This advanced filling machine has the capacity to fill 24,000 SIG XSlimBloc carton packs per hour and has the flexibility to fill nine different volume sizes, ranging from 80 ml to 200 ml, on the same filling line. Changeover time when switching between pack sizes is less than 15 minutes. This flexibility allows Hamdard to easily and quickly right-size products based on consumer demand.
Vandana Tandan, Market Head, India & Bangladesh, SIG: “Hamdard is one of the most recognized beverage brands in India and SIG is excited to partner with the company. This partnership will be beneficial for both SIG and Hamdard in expanding their presence across India. SIG’s advanced technology will enable Hamdard to maintain the highest quality standards for its products while adapting to changing market needs. We look forward to a promising long-term partnership.”
Hamdard will use SIG’s filling technology, for example, to package new varieties of its century-old iconic beverage brand RoohAfza in SIG XSlimBloc carton packs and sell milkshakes, lassi, juices, glucose drinks, coconut water etc. with straws. Hamdard also plans to partner with other industry players to explore co-packing opportunities.
Hamdard Laboratories India – CEO, Foods Division, Hamid Ahmed: “Our collaboration with SIG expands our packaging options and enables us to respond quickly to changing market and consumer preferences and behaviors. The unmatched speed and flexibility of SIG’s filling solutions will improve the efficiency of our production process and reduce our production costs.”
SIG’s cutting-edge filling technology will support Hamdard’s efforts to reach out to various consumer groups across India and overseas as the company aims to expand its reach and cover a wider price range. Furthermore, SIG’s technology will put Hamdard in a better position to reduce waste, save energy and shorten production times, highlighting the company’s commitment to building a sustainable future.
