So what is OHS? This is the flagship conference of the Open Source Hardware Association (OSHWA), whose overall purpose is to promote the dissemination of technical knowledge and research while championing user freedom. It is held annually in selected locations around the world in a variety of multi-day formats including workshops, lectures, and discussion sessions.This year it will be held on May 3rdrd and 4that the LESPACEMAKER Makerspace, Concordia University, Montreal, Canada.
I am especially looking forward to the keynote address by my friend and personal hero, Indigenous robotics inventor and advocate Daniel Boyer.other speaker These include open source trackball wizard Phil Lam of Ploopy and another hero of mine, e-textile master Rodney Trusty. Ever since I last saw my favorite crazy roboticist, Joevon “Oddjay” Moss, roaming around his Maker Faire Rome with his latest companion, his bot, here’s what he’s come up with. I’m looking forward to seeing it. And Thea Flowers, who I’ve been sharing livestreams with passionately about open source music hardware, is sure to have some great things to share.
