Dangerous Goods Delivery Reminder
Transporting HAZMAT materials presents unique challenges. Dangerous Goods Shipping Requirements for Batteries
It is often forgotten that batteries are dangerous goods. However, you can ship batteries through USPS. Simply label the appropriate documents clearly and easily. Service changes for January 2024
Starting January 21st, the USPS has strengthened safety measures when handling the transportation of hazardous materials. HAZMAT labels add the following features:
- Oversized letter “H” in the corner
- Add 2D barcode
- The word “HAZMAT” after “USPS TRACKING #”
Shippers do not need to take any additional action. Simply select the Hazmat option when printing your label. This also applies to any cargo containing dangerous goods. Dangerous goods label changes
Two labels are added to the HAZMAT label 2D IMPd™ Barcode. These new barcodes contain the same information as existing IMPd barcodes. It also helps optimize processing automation. Additionally, these updates minimize distortion and printer errors. This makes it easier to scan the label.
