DBS Group announced the appointment of Eugene Huang as its new Chief Information Officer (CIO), effective May 10, 2024.
An experienced technologist with over 30 years of experience in the technology and banking sectors, Huang will join the bank’s Group Executive Committee and report directly to CEO Piyush Gupta. Become.
He will succeed Han Kwee Juan, who has been acting CIO and country head of Singapore since November 2023.
Following the transition, Mr Han will focus on his role as Singapore Country Head from June 1.
Mr. Huang previously held multiple positions at Ping An Group, including chairman and CEO of the technology division. He managed a large team responsible for his comprehensive IT services including infrastructure and cybersecurity.
Mr. Huang’s career spans several global financial centers and companies, including Salomon Smith Barney, Credit Suisse First Boston, Citigroup, and HSBC.
Prior to joining Heian, he was a key executive at OneConnect Financial Technology, a company founded by Heian that provides technology services to financial institutions around the world.
He played a key role in the company’s listing on the New York Stock Exchange in 2019.
