Dairy farmers looking for consistently short chopped straw throughout their feed mix should consider Teagle’s Tomahawk 8250 Bale Processor.
While there are many machines on the market that provide shredded straw to farmers, Andy Robson, Teagle’s North American sales manager, said the Tomahawk “consistently” provides the short shredded straw that nutritionists seek for dairy feed. says. In this report: Canadian Daily XPO In Stratford, Ont., Robson explains how the machine consistently produces finished products cut to a finished length of 1 3/4 inches.
The Tomahawk 8250 is available in two models, mounted and trailing, and is specifically designed to meet the needs of TMR and bedding applications. Mr Robson says the machine gives farmers great flexibility, with the ability to spray longer or cut shorter with one of his machines. It can be used for laying loose housing and cubicles, and for processing short straw for feed. He says the blade beam can be disengaged to spread material without cutting, or it can be switched to short-chop mode with the push of a button.
In the video below, Robson also explains Tomahawk’s new Sync Wi-Fi control system. This allows operators to pause and resume material flow with the push of a button.
