From hitch pins to closure wheels, Kinze is introducing the new 5670 pivot-fold, split-row model planter for the 2025 planting season.
“This is kind of the next member of our 5000 series family,” said Kinze Product Specialist Brad Nienstedt. In this report from his Commodity Classic in Houston, Texas, he tells his RealAgriculture’s Bernard Tobin that the new planter will increase productivity, improve operator convenience, and make it more usable for growers. He says it will be easy.
Kinze introduced the first 5000 Series model planters in 20-inch and 30-inch configurations in 2023. “This is the next step in our new pivot-folding design that supports 15-inch and 30-inch split row configurations,” he says Niensteadt. The 5670 is available in 12/23 and 16/31 row configurations and can be planted in both 15-inch and 30-inch row widths. Can be used as a row-only planter or a multi-crop planter.
Nienstedt says this planter’s lift-and-pivot frame provides both balance and stability in the field, as well as the narrow width needed for road transport.
In the video below, Niensteadt reviews the 5670’s features and options. These include: All-new robust frame with 24 inches of toolbar clearance and 12 inches of row unit travel. Kinze’s 5000 Series Electrically Driven Pull and Push Column Units. and a Blue Vantage display-controlled on-board 300-gallon fertilizer system.
Maintenance requirements are also reduced with a greaseless and shimless gauge wheel pivot arm, large cast parallel arm with double bushings, and a disc opener with double row bearings and hardened scraper.
