Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced that Adam Selipsky will step down as CEO after approximately 15 years.
Selipsky, who played a key role in growing AWS from its early stages to a business with annual revenue of $100 billion, said he plans to take some time off with his family before deciding on his next venture.
During his tenure as CEO, AWS navigated the challenges of the pandemic, prioritized long-term customer efficiencies, and launched several new services, including notable generative AI products.
Selipsky shared,
“Matt and the AWS leadership team are ready for this next big opportunity. I’m so excited to see what they and you do next. I know it’s going to be impressive.” It’s from.

Matt Garman, a longtime AWS executive, will replace Selipsky as CEO on June 3. Garman said he joined Amazon in 2005 and has held various leadership roles at AWS, including product management and overseeing global sales.
Garman is known for his customer-focused approach and deep understanding of AWS products and services, and we look forward to continuing to drive innovation and growth.
He said,
