Here are some new farm equipment brands based in Western Canada: Acquisition of Morris Equipment Ltd. by Rite Way Mfg. Co..
Morris and Rite Way announced the launch of a new parent company, Superior Farms Equipment Ltd. (SFE for short).
Lightway and Morris will continue to operate under a new parent company, transitioning their product lines to Lightway SFE, Morris SFE and ProAG SFE.
Cameron Johnson, Chairman and CEO of SFE, said: “…Together, we are well positioned to continue to grow our business through our existing dealers and customers, building on the traditions of each company.”
Heather Forbes, who has served as Lightway’s president and CEO since 2012, will become president of SFE.
In conjunction with Superior Farms Equipment’s launch, the company also unveiled its new Morris 10 Series Air Cart on Tuesday.
“The new Morris 10 Series Air Cart is the result of our commitment to combine customer ideas with our own aspirations to design machines that meet the needs of farmers today and tomorrow. We are very excited about the launch of our first major product below,” added Johnson.
Rightway dates back to 1972 and has manufactured a variety of equipment including lock pickers, land rollers, heavy harrows, rotary harrows, and crimper rollers. Morris Industries’ history as a manufacturer of seeding and tillage equipment dates back to 1929.
