Sales of new four-wheel drive tractors in Canada are up 10.8 per cent compared to last year, according to monthly sales data from January to March from the Equipment Manufacturers Association.
With sales of two-wheel drive tractors and combines of all sizes declining in the Canadian and American markets, this is the only category in both markets with year-to-date growth.
Sales of two-wheel drive tractors over 100 horsepower were higher in March than the same month last year, but year-to-date sales are still down 16.3% in Canada and 4.2% in the United States.
Canadian combine sales decreased 5.2% and US combine sales decreased 20.4%.
Sales of four-wheel drive vehicles in the United States also fell by 7.9%.
