A frigid fundraiser hosted by Manitoba’s Domain Seed Business raised more than $70,000 for the STARS Air Ambulance.
Nineteen people from the seed industry and broader agriculture community, including RealAg’s Kelvin Heppner, jumped into a hole in the thick ice of the pond at Pitula Seeds Farm on Friday afternoon. All proceeds from the polar plunge will benefit STARS and HEART, the Hutterian Emergency Response Team, who worked with McDonald Fire Department to get everyone to safety on the icy water. (Donations will be accepted until April 1st.) here. )
After warming up, Kelvin met up with Tom Greaves of Pitsula Seeds and Tracy Mowdy of STARS to talk about the event and the importance of STARS to Canadians living in the prairie countryside. Check out their conversation and highlights from the polar plunge.
