The Securities and Exchange Commission of Thailand (SEC) is seeking public comments on proposed amendments to the emergency decree BE 2561 (2018) on digital asset business.
These changes are intended to update the legislation to better reflect current market conditions and improve regulatory efficiency, as well as to increase investor confidence in digital assets.
This review is mandated by the Legislation and Evaluation of Laws Act BE 2562 (2019), which requires periodic evaluation of laws.
The SEC is conducting this hearing to address issues and challenges related to current statutes and related regulations. Feedback will help ensure the necessity, consistency, and effective enforcement of the statutes.
