Due to open in 2026, the new Pullman Hamilton will feature 191 premium rooms and is the result of an extensive renovation and transformation of Hamilton’s tallest building on Ward Street.
Currently home to the Mistry Centre, the building will eventually comprise two levels of underground parking, three levels of office and retail space and a 13-storey hotel.
Construction has already commenced on the $100 million project, with the facility scheduled for its grand opening in 2026. The owners and developers of this significant development in the City of Hamilton are local businessmen Sanjir Mistry and Pienaar Piso of Mistry Centres Ltd.
The hotel will be operated by Accor under its luxury hotel brand Pullman. Pullman Hamilton will feature underground parking, a restaurant, day spa facilities and a private rooftop VIP lounge.
The Centre Place shopping precinct, which includes the Mistry Centre and Pullman Hamilton, is jointly owned and operated by Kiwi Property and Tainui Group Holdings, and both parties are fully supportive of the new venture.
Tainui Group Holdings CEO Chris Joblin said Hamilton’s recent announcement as New Zealand’s fastest growing city was a positive sign for the development of another high quality hotel in the city and congratulated Accor on the appointment as the hotel operator.
Hamilton Mayor Paula Southgate called the project “great news.”
“Hamilton is a tourist destination and we’ve known for some time that we need to add 595 hotel and serviced apartments by 2033 to meet tourist demand, and today’s Field Days is a great reminder of that,” Mr Southgate said in a statement.
“As New Zealand’s fourth largest city and one of the fastest growing, we are now the fifth most visited region in the country, with visitors spending approximately $1.9 billion here annually.
“The hotel will create more than 100 jobs and help boost the local economy by attracting even more visitors and events to our beautiful city and region.”
