JOALI BEING, the Maldives’ first wellbeing destination, has unveiled an extraordinary lineup of multi-generational experiences for its B’Kidult summer programme, which will feature a range of activities from 1 July to 31 August 2024. Following the island’s recent pivot to welcoming guests of all ages, JOALI BEING’s summer programme welcomes families to come together to immerse themselves in wellbeing, embark on family bonding excursions, discover the joy of physical activity, practice sustainability, unleash their creativity and unearth the natural elements that are central to the destination’s ethos, all while enjoying an idyllic setting surrounded by crystal clear lagoons, pristine beaches and lush coconut groves.
A dedicated space for multigenerational learning and play, B’Kidult invites adventurers of all ages on a shared journey of joy, discovery and connection centered around the four pillars of island wellness: mind, skin, microbiome and energy. The summer program brings families together through fun, meaningful experiences that simultaneously provide a range of physical and mental health benefits for adults and children alike. During this time, JOALI BEING will welcome guests to its 68 luxury beach and overwater villas with private pools, a team of wellness experts and culinary masters, and transformational spaces in nature including AKTAR, the island’s herbology center led by a resident herbalist.
Highlights of the summer program include:
- Aquaventure: To familiarize guests with the water, these sessions teach children the basics of water safety, help them improve their swimming skills, teach them different swimming styles and increase their water confidence.
- Muay Thai: Led by professionally trained instructors, Muay Thai classes help kids discover their inner warrior and become martial arts masters through classes based on striking, basic defensive techniques, building agility and balance, demonstrating power and precision and combination techniques.
- Ocean Guardian: The ocean is at the heart of JOALI BEING. These sessions will deepen your understanding of the world’s largest ecosystem through classes such as “Coral Scientist” where you will learn the basics of coral and how to protect it and apply that knowledge to assess the island’s coral reef, “Fish Finder” where you will dive into the ocean to observe the fish that inhabit the island’s landscape and learn about the behavior of reef fish, “Plastic Ranger” where you will educate participants on the threat of water pollution and create their own ocean-inspired recycled art pieces, “Eco Fisher” where you will learn and practice different fishing methods and sustainable fishing techniques, “Ray Researcher” where you will become a manta ray researcher, and “Dolphin Detectives” where you will learn more about dolphins.
- Eco Harmony: With sustainability as JOALI BEING’s central focus, young guests learn how to care for the environment. Through educational sessions, gardening workshops and nature explorations such as bird watching and plant identification, they learn how to protect wildlife and their habitats and reduce waste. In partnership with the Olive Ridley Project (ORP), JOALI BEING recently opened its new Raa Atoll Sea Turtle Rehabilitation Centre, welcoming its first sea turtle patients, who are currently being rehabilitated. Guests can take part in sea turtle research and conservation activities with resident sea turtle biologists.
- Padel Tennis: The next most popular sport, young guests will learn the basics of padel tennis (rules, basic skills, strategies, etc.) from JOALI BEING’s team of experts and practice their skills in doubles play and point games.
- Ace Academy: Develops participants into tennis professionals through a variety of class levels and areas of emphasis that cover everything from tennis fundamentals to exciting tennis matches.
- JOURNEY JOURNEY: Embracing all the joy that JOALI BEING has to offer, these sessions celebrate movement through Fitness Fun, Yoga Adventure, Pilates Power, Mindfulness Meditation, Fusion Flow and Wellbeing Celebration.
JOALI BEING villas are available from $2,700 per night for two people sharing an Ocean Pool Villa on a B&B basis, while the Wellbeing Programme is available from $1,693 per person for a five-night programme.
The summer program coincides with B’Kidult’s yearly activities calendar and is free for JOALI BEING guests.
