Julian Assange was released after pleading guilty to one espionage charge at a hearing in Saipan. ABC Australia
Stella Assange said the WikiLeaks founder needed time to “let our family be a family” before speaking publicly. (Liveblog) The Guardian. If true, that’s amazing:
Pursuant to the plea agreement, Assange waived his right to seek records under the Freedom of Information Act related to his indictment and extradition.

Connecting the dots: Using the New York Times Connections word game to assess abstract reasoning skills in law students. (Preprint) arVxiv. From the abstract: “To deepen our understanding, we created a taxonomy of the types of knowledge needed to successfully categorize words in the Connections Game and found that LLMs struggle with associative, encyclopedic, and linguistic knowledge. Our findings establish the New York Times Connections Game as a challenging benchmark for assessing the abstract reasoning capabilities of humans and AI systems.” Commentary:
We believe that LLMs still have a long way to go before they reach human-level abstract reasoning. Follow and Mel Mitchell I am an advocate of the ARC Challenge, which is a great way to stress test the LLM. A more ambitious benchmark/test set is needed to see if the LLM is actually good at abstract reasoning. (9/n)
