On 21 June 2024, Kuramathi embodied the spirit of International Yoga Day with a diverse range of activities to suit all ages and interests. From sunrise to sunset, guests were immersed in a variety of yoga disciplines and mindfulness practices to enhance physical vitality and peace of mind.
Hatha, Vinyasa, Ashtanga and Dynamic Yoga sessions took place at the Yoga Pavilion from 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM, encouraging participants to connect with breath and movement for an invigorating start to the day. For younger guests, this was followed by a specially curated Kids Yoga session at the Yoga Pavilion from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM. Guided by experienced instructors, the young yogis were taken through interactive animal-inspired poses to develop focus, self-awareness and emotional control.
As the day progressed, guests gathered on the sand bank for pranayama and meditation from 5-6pm. The tranquil environment complemented deep breathing and mindfulness practices. Here, amidst the natural beauty of Kuramathi, participants found moments of stillness and reflection, ending the day on a peaceful note.
Throughout the celebrations, children also participated in creative activities at Bagicha Kids Club such as Yoga Freeze Dance, Yoga Art and Beach Activities incorporating Yoga Games. These initiatives not only promoted physical activity and teamwork but also fostered creativity and a deeper connection with yoga beyond the mat.
More than just a series of events, International Yoga Day at Kuramathi encouraged guests of all ages to explore the transformative benefits of yoga and have a holistic experience that promotes mind, body and spirit wellbeing in the stunning backdrop of the Maldives.
