Kaani Hotels & Tours has won the bid to develop Vaavu Atoll lagoon into a luxury resort.
Kaani Hotels & Tours started with one guesthouse 12 years ago and has since pioneered the guesthouse sector in the Maldives, known for its excellent service and authentic experiences. The company’s dedication has driven its success as the portfolio has expanded to four guesthouses with a total of 199 rooms. Two more guesthouses, Kaani Haven Beach and Kaani Dream Beach, are scheduled to open in 2025, bringing the total number of rooms to 411.
The soon-to-open Kaani Beach Resort is expected to be a game-changer with 200 rooms including luxurious beach accommodation and stunning overwater villas. Planned as a club-style resort, it will offer guests unparalleled levels of comfort and exclusivity while maintaining Kaani’s commitment to hospitality.
“We are extremely proud of this achievement,” said Kaani Group CEO Abdulla Nasheed. “Winning the bid for Verve Lagoon marks the beginning of a new chapter for Kaani Hotels. It is a testament to our team’s hard work and dedication and we are thrilled to be able to share the beauty of the Maldives with our guests in a whole new way.”
This expansion not only highlights Kaani Hotels’ impressive growth but also demonstrates the company’s evolving role in the Maldives’ tourism industry. The Kaani Beach Resort project is expected to create new opportunities for the local Vaavu Atoll economy and contribute to increasing tourism to the Maldives.
