The 58-km-long Bengaluru Metro Phase 2 will connect the Bengaluru Airport Terminal to the Central Silk Board via KR Puram.
Siemens Limited, as part of a consortium with Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), has been awarded an order from Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) for the electrification of the Bangalore Metro Phase 2 project. The project will contribute towards sustainable public transport in the city. The total contract amount is approximately INR 7,660 crores. Siemens Limited’s share as part of the consortium is approximately INR 5,580 crores.
Siemens Limited will design, engineer, install and commission the digital solution consisting of rail electrification technology and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems. The project will cover 30 stations over 58 kilometers stretching from Bangalore Airport Terminal to Central Silk Board via KR Puram and two depots. This order marks Siemens’ presence in 11 of the 20 metro cities in India.
