Sumsub, a global verification provider, has announced strategic partnerships with several resellers in Southeast Asia, including Nexus Technologies in the Philippines, PT Secure Pasifik Teknologi in Indonesia and Spectrum Edge in Malaysia.
These partnerships are intended to strengthen fraud prevention efforts and enhance the local business environment.
As Southeast Asia’s digital economy continues to grow, so do the opportunities for fraudsters.
Smooth Across the Philippines, Indonesia and Malaysia, there has been a reported significant increase in scams, particularly deepfakes.
Governments in these countries have responded by tightening regulations in the areas of KYC (Know Your Customer) and AML (Anti-Money Laundering).
By partnering with local resellers, Sumsub aims to provide businesses in these key markets with robust verification solutions to help them meet compliance standards and effectively combat fraud and identity theft.
Sumsub established its first APAC headquarters in Singapore in July 2023. Penny Chai, appointed vice president of business development, has been leading the company’s operations and driving growth in Asia from Singapore.
“We would like to thank our partners Nexus Technologies, PT Secure Pasifik Teknologi and Spectrum Edge for trusting us. With rising fraud and greater accessibility of AI tools, the demand for our verification and compliance solutions has never been higher.
Over the past year, Sumsub has achieved significant milestones in Asia, and we aim to continue this momentum by working with our partners to build a safer, more digitally inclusive future for businesses and consumers in Asia.”
“We’re excited to be working with Samsung Electronics,” said Penny Chai, vice president of business development at SamSub.
Sumsub will be holding a roadshow, “Comply to Fortify: APAC Fraud Prevention Roadshow,” in major cities across the Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia to showcase its solution and the benefits it can bring to businesses.
