Adaaran Resort in the Maldives has achieved a milestone in sustainable tourism with all four resorts achieving the prestigious Green Globe certification, an accolade that highlights the resort’s unwavering commitment to sustainability and its leadership in responsible tourism practices in one of the world’s most pristine marine environments.
All four resorts – Adaaran Prestige Vadoo, Adaaran Select Meedhupparu, Adaaran Select Hudhuran Fushi and Adaaran Club Rannalhi – are Green Globe Standard 1.7 certified, achieving a score of over 86%, demonstrating an exceptional commitment to sustainability in all aspects of their operations. All four resorts have implemented comprehensive initiatives to minimise their impact on the environment. These initiatives include eliminating single-use plastics, installing rainwater collection systems, using native landscaping to protect local biodiversity and coral restoration projects.
Stashani Jayawardena, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Aitkin Spence Hotel Holdings, said: “Achieving Green Globe sustainability certification across all our properties in the Maldives in 2024 underlines our firm commitment to integrating sustainable practices across our operations.
