The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Council (MMPRC/Visit Maldives), in collaboration with the Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO) and the National Hotel and Guest House Association of Maldives (NHGAM), is finalizing a series of roadshows planned in India. The “Welcome India” roadshows aim to reinforce Maldives’ position as a top holiday destination for Indian travellers with activities in three key cities.
The roadshow series is scheduled to begin in New Delhi on 30 July 2024, continue in Mumbai on 1 August 2024 and conclude in Bengaluru on 3 August 2024. The high-profile event will bring together key industry players from both countries, providing a platform to foster new partnerships, strengthen existing ties and showcase the unparalleled beauty and diversity of the Maldives. A high-profile delegation from Maldives will participate, including Minister of Tourism Ibrahim Faisal and Presidential Advisor on Tourism Development Mohamed Khalil.
The “Welcome India” roadshow aims to showcase Maldives’ beautiful beaches, luxurious resorts, charming guesthouses and rich cultural heritage across three cities. Participants will not only get to experience Maldivian warmth and hospitality but will also have the opportunity to explore exciting business opportunities.
To add to the excitement factor, raffles have been scheduled at each roadshow where lucky winners will receive holiday prizes. Raffle sponsors include Kandima Maldives, Nova Maldives, Arena Hotel, Kaani Hotel, Villa Nautica, Sirru Fen Fushi, Holiday Inn Kandooma and Alila Kotaifaru Maldives.
India is an important source market for the Maldives with tourist numbers growing steadily. The roadshows aim to capitalise on this growing demand and consolidate Maldives’ position as a top destination for Indian travellers. Visit Maldives is confident that the “Welcome India” roadshow series will be a huge success and further increase the attractiveness of Maldives in the Indian market.
