The award-winning St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort is set to welcome Singapore-based art collective Fun Art Therapy, known for their mesmerizing string art and mandala creations, to the spectacular resort from 20-23 August 2024. Families staying at the resort will have the exclusive opportunity to participate in a series of workshops that foster creativity, connection and a deeper connection to serenity whilst surrounded by the natural beauty of the Maldives.
Through a series of workshops, Fun Art Therapy invites guests to immerse themselves in the world of art and expression through the creation of string art and mandalas. The four-day residential program is suitable for all ages and skill levels and will take place throughout the property. In addition to the workshops, Fun Art Therapy’s unique creations will be on display throughout the resort, giving guests the opportunity to view the artworks up close and learn from the artists themselves.
Fann Art Therapie was conceived in February 2018 by founders Zechai Kee and Leow Yee Yng with the aim of enabling people to reconnect with themselves and their relationships. Fann Art Therapie values process over outcome and encourages self-expression through art. Workshops at the resort aim to offer guests the opportunity to de-stress, escape the everyday and discover.
The string art workshop schedule is as follows:
- Tuesday 20th August: A whale shark inspired introductory string art workshop for children will be held at Vommuli House.
- Wednesday, August 21: The Drawing Room will host a Mandala Art Workshop for all ages. Experience the tranquility of string art while exploring the rich cultural symbolism of the mandala.
- Thursday, August 22: Advanced Manta-themed string art workshop with specific techniques will be held in the Drawing Room.
- Friday, August 23: Guests staying in the resort’s famous Premium Villas can enjoy an exclusive String Art and Mandala session in their villa for a personalized and intimate experience, available for a limited time only.
