The 2024 Resort League South Male Zone kicked off with a bang at CROSSROADS Maldives on August 1. CROSSROADS Maldives, the reigning champions of the South Male Zone, faced off against the inter-destination Hard Rock Hotel Maldives team in the opening match.
Crossroads Maldives, the runners-up of the 2023 Resort Super League tournament and the reigning South Male Zone champions, proved themselves once again, displaying exceptional skill and teamwork to win both their Group A matches and qualify for the quarter-finals on 10 August.
The opening ceremony of Resort League South Male Zone 2024 was attended as the guest of honour by Dr. Devakam Chayanin, a distinguished member of the Singha Estate PCL Board of Directors. Dr. Chayanin holds several key positions on the Board including Director, Chairman of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, Chairman of the Corporate Governance and Sustainable Development Committee and Chairman of the Executive Committee.
The Resort League South Male Zone will see 12 teams divided into four groups competing in the Maldives’ premier futsal championship. The tournament provides an important platform for resorts across the Maldives to compete and showcase their athletic talent. This year’s tournament is expected to be highly competitive as champions from the various zones will compete for the coveted title in the Resort Super League Tournament. Crossroads Maldives was runner-up last season and is aiming to win this year.
