Canareef Resort Maldives will host the 15th World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championships and Electives. Taking place from 5th to 11th November 2024, the prestigious event will attract top athletes, officials and fans from around the world for a week of exciting competition and celebration amidst the stunning beauty of the Maldives.
The event, organised by the Bodybuilding Association of Maldives (BBAM) under the aegis of the World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation (WBPF), marks a significant milestone in the Maldives’ sporting calendar. With the full support of the Government of the Maldives, President Mohamed Muizz and Minister of Tourism Ibrahim Faisal, the championship is expected to further cement the country’s reputation as a premier destination for hosting international sporting events.

The event marks a significant milestone not only for the Maldives but also for Addu Atoll which will host another major international event after the 2011 SAARC Summit held in Hithadhoo Island. The World Championships are expected to greatly benefit the southernmost atoll of the Maldives and highlight the potential of the region as a hub for sports tourism and MICE events.
