Ultra-luxury private island resort, One&Only Reethi Rah, will welcome Huravee School on 10 August 2024 for an exclusive, full-day education programme aimed at providing insight into the hospitality industry from the One&Only brand’s perspective.
Based in Hulhumale, Hulavie School is the largest school in the Maldives with over 2,450 students and 190 teachers. A group of 19 pupils from the student council, along with parent chaperones and staff including the Vice Principal, were invited to the island resort to learn about hospitality and resort life at One&Only Reethi Rah.
The day’s program began with an introduction and greetings from the resort’s management team, followed by a day-long tour of various guest and colleague facilities, from the Dive Centre and One&Only Spa, to various dining options such as Garden Restaurant Botanica and guest villas. In line with the resort’s environmental efforts, the tour also included a special presentation by the Olive Ridley Project, the resort’s charity partner in the recovery and rehabilitation of injured sea turtles.
The visit ended with an afternoon tea to refresh and reflect on the learning day, concluding a memorable day aimed at nurturing and engaging Maldivian hoteliers to pave the way for hospitality in the island nation.
“Tourism accounts for a third of the Maldives’ GDP and provides significant employment opportunities for the country. As a resort that has been in operation since 2005 and has been leading the trend of ultra-luxury hospitality in the Maldives, we take every opportunity, including school visits and our Dhalival training programme, to educate the young Maldivians, who are the future of the country, about the importance of the hospitality industry and how they can build a career in this thriving industry,” said General Manager Jean Tibaldi.
