In the week ending August 10, Seasonally adjusted new claims were 227,000.The weekly average was 7,000 cases lower than the previous week’s revised figure. The previous week’s average was revised upward by 1,000 cases to 234,000 from 233,000. The four-week moving average was 236,500 cases, down 4,500 cases from the previous week’s revised figure. The previous week’s average was revised upward by 250 cases to 241,000 from 240,750.
