GM Forum 2024, taking place on 19 September 2024, will focus on the theme “The Evolving World of Luxury” and bring together industry leaders to discuss the future of luxury travel in the Maldives.
Now in its eighth year, the annual GM Forum kicks off with a deep dive into the psychology of the new luxury traveler. Speakers will analyze evolving demographics and psychographics, shedding light on the sustainability-conscious traveler, the health-conscious traveler and the tech-savvy guest. The rise of digital luxury will also be a hot topic, with experts exploring the impact of digital marketing, influencer partnerships and social media in attracting and engaging affluent travel enthusiasts.
As luxury transcends traditional boundaries, the discussion will go “beyond the villa” and explore new trends such as private islands, underwater experiences and eco-lodges. The forum will also address sustainable luxury, calling on GMs to embrace eco-friendly practices that resonate with environmentally conscious guests. The future of guest experience will be envisioned by innovative service personalization, curated activities and the latest technology.
The focus will be on the art of customising guest itineraries to create unforgettable journeys. Panelists will share insights on how to curate authentic local experiences that weave Maldivian culture into luxury spaces. Adventurous luxury travellers’ appetite for off-resort experiences will be satiated with discussions on partnerships with local artisans and cultural immersion.
As the largest gathering of hospitality professionals in the Maldives, the forum will feature a diverse panel of hoteliers, travel agents, marketing experts and sustainability consultants to bring in rich perspectives. The interactive format will engage the audience through Q&A, surveys and breakout discussions, creating an environment that encourages active participation. Case studies showcasing innovations from other hospitality groups in the luxury travel sector will serve as a guide for the industry.
Ali Naafiz, editor of Hotelier Maldives, added: “With GAGE on board as an associate sponsor, the forum gains a partner with significant expertise in the fields of security and consulting. This partnership will increase the diversity of insights shared at the event.”
