IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced a partnership with Roxy Pacific Holdings Pte Ltd, a leader in the real estate and hospitality industry in Asia Pacific, to bring its Vignette Collection brand to the Maldives.
The conversion deal will see Noku Maldives Vignette Collection, a 50-room private villa resort on the beautiful island of Kudafunafaru, join IHG’s luxury and lifestyle portfolio, one of the world’s largest, in December 2024 after being renovated under the Vignette Collection brand. The Vignette Collection brands are a family of unique properties, each with their own distinct identity, united by a vision to offer a more authentic way to travel and backed by IHG’s trusted reputation and the guarantee of first-class loyalty offers.
Chris Anklin, senior director, development, Southeast Asia and Korea, IHG Hotels & Resorts, said: “Through our first collaboration with Roxy Pacific, we are proud to bring the Vignette Collection brand to the beautiful Noonu Atoll in the Maldives, known for its rich marine life and over 30 incredible dive sites. This will be a stunning boutique resort, offering an unforgettable stay and delivering on our brand promise of weaving together responsibility, community and locality to make a positive impact on its surroundings.”
“This adds to the conversion activity IHG recorded in the first half of the year, accounting for 41 per cent of openings and 55 per cent of signings globally across most of our brand portfolio. Across the region, more than half of signings were conversions, which is a testament to the appeal of our brands, the strength of IHG’s enterprise platform and our ability to convert and rebrand on short notice. As we prepare to open in December, we look forward to welcoming guests to Noku Maldives Vignette Collection, IHG’s fifth property in the Maldives. The Vignette Collection brand joins Six Senses, InterContinental and Holiday Inn in offering a broad portfolio of experiences to stay for every guest and every occasion.”
Chris Teo, Deputy CEO and Executive Director, Roxy Pacific Holdings Pte Ltd said, “The Maldives is a timeless, bucket-list destination with strong and stable demand. The Maldives has established itself as a leading sustainable tourism destination and is targeting two million tourists this year, a 10% increase over 2023. We are offering travellers the ideal getaway to explore the many attractions the Maldives has to offer.”
“We know our guests are looking for meaningful, authentic stay experiences that immerse them in the local culture and connect with the surrounding community. As part of Noku Maldives’ rapidly growing family of brands, Vignette Collection will maintain its distinct identity, supported by IHG’s scale and IHG One Rewards loyalty program. Together, we look forward to offering our guests an elevated resort experience that will inspire them to stay longer and discover the natural wonders that surround us.”
Noku Maldives Vignette Collection is reachable via a 45-minute seaplane flight from Velana International Airport or a 40-minute flight to Maafaru Domestic Airport, followed by a 15-minute speedboat ride to the island.
Spanning approximately 90,000 square metres, the resort offers 30 overwater and 20 beachfront villas, most with their own private pool. Although the smallest villa is just 175 square metres, it boasts some of the largest villas in the Maldives, making it the perfect place for couples, friends or families to enjoy an unforgettable stay.
Facilities include two restaurants and bars, an outdoor pool, a fitness center, a spa, retail shops, a diving and watersports center, and the opportunity to encounter a wide variety of marine life, including grey reef sharks, stingrays and sea turtles.
IHG launched Vignette Collection in August 2021 to offer a different price point from its luxury conversion brand voco and to complement its existing luxury and lifestyle portfolio. The brand has grown globally, opening 18 hotels including Convent Square in Lisbon, Vignette Collection in Portugal, The Halyard in Liverpool, Vignette Collection in the UK, Sindhorn Midtown Hotel in Bangkok, Vignette Collection and Dinso Resort & Villas Phuket, Vignette Collection in Thailand, Th8 Palm Dubai Beach Resort in the UAE and Hotel X Brisbane Fortitude Valley in Australia.
