Sun Siyam Resorts has announced the appointment of Pasan Wijewardena as Cluster Director, Sales & Marketing for Sun Siyam Iru Fushi and Sun Siyam Pasikudha, effective 17 August 2024.
Pathan has over 10 years of experience in the hospitality industry having held key leadership positions in luxury, lifestyle and full-service hotels in Sri Lanka, Maldives and Oman. Most recently, he served as Director of Sales and Business Development for Shangri-La Muscat where he played a key role in driving the business growth and strategic development. Prior to that, he was Cluster Sales Director for Shangri-La in Sri Lanka. He began his career with Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts in Sri Lanka where he played a key role in establishing Cinnamon City Hotel in the competitive market.
This is not Pathan’s first time with San Siyam Resorts, as he previously served as Sales & Marketing Manager at San Siyam Iru Veli in the Maldives where he was instrumental in the resort’s growth and market presence. His return to San Siyam Resorts is a testament to his expertise and the strong relationship he has maintained with the brand.
In his new role, Pasan will be focused on developing and executing sales and marketing strategies to drive revenue growth, increase brand awareness and optimize market presence for both San Siyam Iru Fushi and San Siyam Pasikudah resorts. He will lead the sales and marketing team to foster strong partnerships with key stakeholders to ensure the resorts continue to deliver an exceptional guest experience.
