The Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO) has received a special recognition from the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA). The honour recognises MATATO’s ongoing efforts in promoting responsible travel and tourism in the Asia Pacific region.
The award was officially presented to MATATO, the PATA Maldives chapter, at the PATA Travel Mart 2024, held in Bangkok from 27-29 August 2024. MATATO President Abdulla Ghiyas Riyaz accepted the award on behalf of the association.
MATATO’s certification by PATA highlights the association’s role in driving efforts to promote sustainable and responsible travel practices in the region. The association continues to work closely with local and international stakeholders to strengthen the Maldives’ tourism industry while ensuring it remains sustainable for future generations.
