Singapore-based B2B fintech company Aspirations Appointed Summer Yu As Global Head of Compliance Tomaso Scarpa As the Head of Compliance in Singapore.
These appointments are aimed at strengthening the company’s compliance, risk and IT security teams, which have reportedly grown five-fold in the past 24 months.
Yu brings over 20 years of international regulatory experience from PayPal, Bytedance and HSBC.
Meanwhile, Scarpa, who was previously head of the Financial Crime Group at Currencycloud (Visa Solution), will strengthen Aspire’s financial crime prevention efforts with a focus on Singapore compliance standards.
The company’s compliance team has doubled in size over the past year to help Aspire navigate the complexities of international markets.
The focus on compliance has become increasingly important as Aspire expands, with recent Acquisition Obtained Money Service Operator (MSO) license in Hong Kong.
With a reported 20% increase in financial crime in the APAC region over the past year, Aspire has put together a dedicated team that works closely with risk, IT compliance and legal departments to maintain a robust IT security framework.
