Dear Reader, As I was taking photos today, I felt like my legs were empty as I stepped back to get my subject in the right frame. Then I fell backwards onto the concrete sidewalk. I was okay as I supported the camera with my body while falling, but I ended up spraining my lower back badly. Sitting at my desk is not on. So I actually buy some painkillers at the drugstore and lie in bed. I should be back to normal by tomorrow. In the meantime, this is an open thread. –Lambert

This is bee balm. Bee balm is one of my favorite flowers. It’s a hummingbird favorite and is invasive, so plant a little and get a lot. Using bee balm also allows me to demonstrate one of my few actual plant knowledges. Bee balm belongs to the Lamiaceae family because it has square stems.
