Allstate is here to support California communities.
When nonprofits receive funding before a disaster, they are better positioned to provide immediate and long-term relief to affected communities. The Allstate Foundation has committed two donations totaling $750,000 to the American Red Cross and Disaster Philanthropy Center.strengthening the capacity of these organizations to assist communities affected by disasters.
Allstate helps everyone, whether they’re a customer or not, understand how insurance works, how to file a claim, and how to access government support programs.
of Disaster Help Center and Allstate Good Hands Recovery Guide We provide general insurance information, important government resources, and safety tips to help families and communities prepare for and recover from major disasters.
Our nationwide agents are more than just insurance experts. They live and work in the communities they serve. They are local advocates who answer residents’ questions and provide one-on-one support, especially after a disaster occurs.
Disasters affect entire communities. And at Allstate, we believe no one should face their problems alone. We stand by our promise of “You can rely on Allstate®” and are committed to making the recovery process as smooth as possible.
Steps to take
- Make sure everyone is safe. First and foremost, keep your loved ones safe and let others know that you are okay.
- Do not enter your home unless you know it is safe. Check with the fire department before returning home. Inflammation may occur. Look for hot spots or smoldering areas on your property. Hot embers can hide in gutters, under decks, in crawl spaces, and in piles of wood and debris. If you are concerned that it may not be safe, please do not enter.
- Please start the claim process as soon as possible. Allstate customers can file claims by going online, using the Allstate® mobile app, calling 1-800-54-STORM, or by contacting an Allstate agent. Customers can also use MyClaim to update their contact and payment information for faster transactions.
- Document damage. Please separate the damaged and undamaged items. If it is unsafe to keep your damaged item, please take photos and videos for our claims team and dispose of it properly.
- Perform emergency repairs. If necessary, contact a qualified contractor to make temporary repairs to prevent further damage. Please keep all receipts and submit them to our billing team. Please take photos before any repairs are made.
