Located in the heart of Leicester Square, Hippodrome Casino London is the UK’s largest entertainment and casino venue. Inside you’ll find the acclaimed Heriot’s Steakhouse, offering mesmerizing views of the bustling casino floor accented by a striking central light fixture. The restaurant exudes a relaxed and sophisticated atmosphere with black booths, sleek walnut tables, subdued music and a bar overlooking the casino floor. Whether you’re looking for a daytime meal, an evening dinner or a place to dine after a Magic Mike performance, Heriot’s Steakhouse is the place to be.
This steakhouse offers both brunch and dinner menus. The brunch menu features eggs royale, hot stacked pancakes, breakfasts, salads, and burgers. But the star is the steak. I chose the USDA Premium Filet, aged for both tenderness and flavor. It was cooked medium rare and topped with a juicy garlic tail of lobster. The steak was cooked to perfection and literally “melted in your mouth.” The lobster was tender and sweet, complementing the steak beautifully. Each steak is customized to your cooking preferences, toppings, and sauces. Other examples of options include peppercorn sauce, chimichurri sauce, grilled white onion and thyme, forest mushroom and garlic butter, roasted bone marrow, red wine sauce, and crispy kale.
For accompaniments I chose the creamy spinach and mac n cheese, which had a crunchy cheese exterior and soft mac n cheese inside, which went really well with the steak. There were plenty of other choices available, including truffle mac n cheese, chunky fries, feta salad and mashed potatoes.
Finally, following the waitress’ recommendation, I ordered the Red Velvet Cake, a creamy mascarpone sandwich with forest blueberries and blackberries. It was absolutely delicious. For my drink, I ordered Miraval Provence Rosé, which was smooth, light and refreshing, perfectly paired with the steak. The service was impeccable, the staff were friendly, the food was excellent, and the casino provided captivating entertainment, enhancing the overall experience. Heriot’s Steakhouse is well-deserved to have been named Best Casino Restaurant three times at the British Casino Awards, and I highly recommend the dining experience.
