About Akash Forming Technologies (AFT): Akash Forming Technologies (AFT) was established in 2011 and embarked on the business of manufacturing high precision sheet metal stamping parts for domestic as well as global markets. Leveraging a wealth of knowledge and experience accumulated over 35 years in the field of stamping parts, the founders were formerly part of Akash Industries, which was established in 1977. AFT started its business as a small scale enterprise and specializes in manufacturing sheet metal parts and sub-assemblies for leading OEMs in the power generation and automotive industries. Our product portfolio includes sheet metal parts such as alternators, motors, household appliances, engine filter assemblies, etc.

With a state-of-the-art manufacturing infrastructure, AFT has the capacity to mass produce within specified deadlines while adhering to strict quality specifications. Customization is at the core of what we do, and we tailor products to meet our customers’ exact requirements as outlined in drawings and samples. Our manufacturing process includes a variety of operations including blanking, drawing, bending, piercing and forming, all performed on metal sheets using specialized tooling on designated presses.
Can you share more details about your in-house manufacturing facilities and machinery?
AFT has a state-of-the-art fleet of machinery including shearing machines, cranes (hoists), arc welding, spot welding, hydraulic presses, laser cutting and circular cutting machines, allowing for precise and efficient manufacturing processes.
In addition to our advanced manufacturing facilities, AFT has a 6,000 sq. ft. dedicated paint shop. Equipped with a comprehensive surface preparation paint booth with seven tanks, gas-fired bulking ovens, and racks for process execution, our paint shop meticulously prepares and finishes the parts. We perform extensive quality checks in the baths and meticulously monitor the bath concentrations to maintain quality standards. Further, we offer powder coating or e-coating options based on customer preference through robust Tier 2 partnerships for these services.
At the heart of our infrastructure is a skilled and committed team of manpower. Comprising of production engineers, design and drafting experts, commercial and accounting professionals, and experienced operatives, our team is committed to delivering superior product quality.
To cater to our customers’ requirements effectively, we have a dedicated in-house packaging department where trained personnel use state-of-the-art equipment to package finished goods to customer specifications. Our packaging operation uses high quality corrugated boxes to ensure the safe and secure transportation of your products to their destination.
How do you maintain quality standards within your facility, especially considering the large export share?
AFT’s primary goal is to ensure customer satisfaction by consistently meeting their requirements and providing them with high-quality sheet metal stamping parts. We achieve this through continuous improvement efforts in our manufacturing activities and the effectiveness of our quality management system. Looking ahead to 2024, we have set several specific goals to further improve our performance. These include meeting customer schedules, monitoring and reducing the total number of rejected products, minimizing customer complaints, initiating continuous improvement projects in various areas, providing comprehensive training to employees, increasing sales compared to the previous year, developing new parts using existing facilities, and expanding our customer base. Through dedicated efforts and strategic initiatives, we aim to continuously increase our capabilities to meet our customers’ needs and exceed their expectations.
