Sun Siyam Iru Veli has announced the appointment of three renowned professionals to its executive team: Shimhad Ali as Human Resources Manager, Ibrahim Fayaz as Food & Beverage Manager and Kadek Darmawati as Spa Manager. These strategic appointments underscore Sun Siyam Iru Veli’s commitment to excellence in service, guest experience and employee wellbeing.
Simhad Ali brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having begun his career in the tourism industry in 2007. Starting off as a receptionist at sister property Sun Siyam Vil Reef, Simhad quickly progressed in his career, gaining diverse experience in both housekeeping and HR at renowned properties such as Four Seasons Resort Maldives and LUX* North Male Atoll. Simhad holds a bachelor’s degree and has held a variety of HR-related roles, most recently as HR Assistant Manager at Jumeirah Maldives Olhahali Island.
Simhad’s approach to HR is focused on creating a positive work environment where employees feel valued and empowered. He says, “My goal as HR manager is to foster a culture of open communication and continuous learning. Investing in the well-being and growth of our employees not only benefits them as individuals, but also leads to the success of the company as a whole.”
With over 15 years of experience in the Food & Beverage industry, Ibrahim Fayaz has an impressive track record, beginning his career as a waiter at Bandos Island Resort before moving on to hold positions at prestigious hotels such as Soneva Gili, Hard Rock Penang and Como Parrot Cay. Most recently, he served as F&B Manager at Hurawalhi Island Resort and Kudadoo Private Island, where he led his team to multiple accolades, including Forbes 5-Star certification for Hurawalhi.
Fayaz expressed his enthusiasm about joining San Siyam Iru Veli, saying: “I am delighted to be joining the San Siyam Iru Veli team at such an exciting time. I am committed to enhancing the quality of our food and beverage, ensuring exceptional service and delivering an unforgettable experience to our guests in this fantastic location.”
Kadek Dharmawati’s passion for wellness and dedication to excellence have defined her career in the spa industry. Starting off as a masseuse in Bali, Dharmawati gained extensive experience at various resorts in the Maldives before joining Pullman Maldives Maamta. Her vision for San Siyam Iru Veli is to elevate the spa to five-star standards, providing a luxurious and rejuvenating experience for every guest.
Dharma’s guiding philosophy is summed up in her words, “Love what you do and do what you love.” She adds, “I’ve been fortunate to have had incredible leaders who have guided me and I’m excited to bring my expertise and passion to Il Veli Ocean Spa, aiming to make it a sanctuary for relaxation and wellbeing.”
