According to statistics from the Maldives Immigration Department, 123,281 tourists visited the Maldives in June this year, a 2.42% increase from the 120,363 tourists who arrived in the same period last year.
China had the most visitors in June with 20,036, followed by Russia with 14,865 and India in third place with 10,018. The UK and Germany also saw their arrivals with 8,261 and 5,811 tourists respectively.
Last month, the Maldives welcomed an average of 4,109 tourists per day.
More than one million tourists visited the Maldives in the first half of this year, a 9 percent increase from the same period last year, the Ministry of Tourism reported.
