A new contemporary coaching inn, The Hound, will officially open in Chiswick on Wednesday 17th July. Set within the walls of a historic Victorian police station, The Hound will build on the success of its sister pubs, The George and The Cadogan Arms, to become a new dining destination in West London. The third pub by Dominic Jacobs and JKS Restaurants comprises a bustling pub floor, a cosy drawing room, two private dining rooms, a covered outdoor courtyard and a south-facing front terrace, and will be open daily for lunch, dinner and bar snacks. The main private dining room seats up to 18 guests and features an exposed brick ceiling made up of three combined former cells, paying homage to the building’s storied past. To the side of the room are two wine cellars, also from former cells, which still retain their original prison bars and doors. The spacious outdoor courtyard has a retractable glass roof, allowing guests to enjoy the outdoor area all year round.
There will be TVs in the pub and courtyard showing live sport and a private dining room at the rear of the pub (‘The Green Room’) will have a large projector screen, perfect for group viewing.
In August, The Hound will open four boutique guest rooms above the pub, making it the perfect destination for anyone looking for a London getaway.
Executive Chef John Sparks will work with Head Chef James Knappett from two-Michelin star Kitchen Table in Fitzrovia to create a diverse menu inspired by British pub classics.
The Hound’s menu is inspired by popular dishes from the Cadogan Arms and George. Black Pudding Scotch Egg With Oxford sauce Buttermilk Fried Chicken Served with blue cheese sauce and bubble dog hot sauce Ham, eggs, chips Served with spicy pineapple ketchup.

Managing director Dominic Jacobs said: ““We are thrilled to take over this historic location in Chiswick, which has been a cornerstone of the local community for so long and we want it to remain that way, offering a welcoming space to socialise, drink, dine, enjoy special occasions or stay the night. Both the Cadogan Arms and The George have been firmly rooted in their local communities over the past three years and have thrived as a result, and we hope to open The Hound with the same aspirations.”
The Hound will open on Wednesday, July 17. Rooms will open in August, with more details to come.
