The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort, the Maldives’ finest resort, has announced the appointment of Nagi Mankarious as its new Resort Manager.
Nagi has over 20 years of international experience in the luxury hospitality industry, having held leadership positions in some of the most prestigious hotels across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Nagi’s passion for hospitality is deeply rooted in family tradition and began in the kitchens of a family-owned restaurant in London, England in 1998 before embarking on his hospitality journey as a management trainee with Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, where he spent a foundational decade contributing to the successful launch of four pre-opening projects in the Middle East, where his passion came to fruition.
Between 2012 and 2014 he completed a Bachelor’s in Business Administration at the European University in Munich, furthering his academic skills whilst establishing himself in the hospitality industry, with a main foundation in finance, marketing and strategic management.
He then pursued his passion for hospitality in Germany, where he managed food and beverage at some of Europe’s most iconic hotels, including the Atlantic Hotel in Hamburg, Kempinski Hotel Berchtesgaden in the Bavarian Alps, and the Rocco Forte Hotel in Munich.
Nagi believes that the key to success in the luxury hotel business is to provide each guest with a memorable, exceptional, high quality and personalized journey, done with passion and sincerity.
Nagi joins House of Astor from the renowned Ritz-Carlton Sharq Village & Spa in Doha, where he led the team to multiple award-winning achievements and delivered the highly successful innovative FIFA World Cup project.
“We are thrilled to welcome Nagi Mankarias to our family as our new Resort Manager. His wealth of experience and leadership will undoubtedly further strengthen our commitment to providing an exceptional luxury experience at The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort,” said Vincent Potion, General Manager of The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort.
Opened in November 2016, The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort is located on a private island in a secluded Maldivian atoll, surrounded by abundant marine life. A short 40-minute seaplane flight from Male will transport guests to the new paradise of Dhaalu Atoll.
The resort takes inspiration from nature itself. Designed by WOW Architects | Warner Wong Design (Singapore), The St. Regis Maldives’ distinctive contemporary design takes inspiration from the resort’s natural surroundings, including manta ray-shaped lagoon villas, a signature whale shark bar, a lobster-inspired spa and a spiral shell-shaped library.
Seven dining options include two specialty Asian restaurants serving up Oriental haute cuisine and Japanese kaiseki cuisine, an international restaurant serving dishes made with locally sourced ingredients, an underground wine cellar, a hut-style restaurant, a signature overwater bar with stunning views of dramatic sunsets, and a Middle Eastern restaurant set inland amid tropical gardens. Additionally, guests have access to the Iridium Spa, which features six overwater treatment rooms, two of which are dedicated to soothing Ayurvedic treatments. Spa guests also have access to the Blue Hole pool, which features heated saltwater with a variety of water jets, a system proven to have physical benefits.
