Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives) and the Maldives Tourism Industry Association (MATI) on Wednesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaboration and expand marketing activities for the destination.
“We are pleased to formalize this important collaboration with MATI,” said Ibrahim Shiuli, CEO and Managing Director of MMPRC. “MATI’s extensive industry knowledge and experience will undoubtedly be a vital asset in strengthening our destination marketing efforts, and their insight and support will be invaluable as we work towards achieving our strategic objectives.”
This sentiment was echoed by Ahmed Nazir, Secretary General of MATI, who said, “We have always maintained a close working relationship with MMPRC and we hope that today’s understanding will help further consolidate and strengthen that relationship. Furthermore, we hope that this collaboration will help strengthen MMPRC’s destination marketing efforts, which is undoubtedly crucial to enhancing the destination’s brand attractiveness and achieving its overall performance objectives.”
Under the terms of the MOU, MATI will act as an advisor to MMPRC to assist in conceptualizing and developing destination marketing strategies, campaigns and tactics for the Maldives. Additionally, the two parties will also collaborate in collecting tourism-related data, sharing analytics and insights.
