The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives) and the National Hotel and Guest House Association of Maldives (NHGAM) on Sunday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to effectively promote the tourist destination of Maldives.
The collaboration is aimed at enhancing the Maldives’ attractiveness as a premier tourism destination. The agreement was signed by MMPRC CEO and Managing Director Ibrahim Siuli and NHGAM Vice President Ahmed Waheed at a ceremony held at the MMPRC headquarters on Sunday afternoon.
“We are pleased to strengthen our collaboration with NHGAM and enter the emerging market,” said Ibrahim Siuli, CEO and MD of MMPRC. “By working closely with industry partners like NHGAM, we aim to further strengthen our offerings and attract more travellers to the Maldives.”
Under this strategic MOU, NHGAM will play a key role in supporting marketing activities and participant recruitment to maximize participant engagement through trade fairs and events, including the Asian Tourism Fair (ATF) 2024. Additionally, the two parties will work together in joint promotion of the Maldives, boosting local island tourism and reinforcing the Maldives’ position as a leading global tourist destination.
The first collaboration under this MOU, ATF 2024 will be a key event for governments, businesses and development agencies across Asia; providing invaluable opportunities for networking, partnership building and cultural exchange. This year’s ATF coincides with World Tourism Day, further adding to the excitement and prestige of the event. In addition to the core tourism trade exhibition, B2B sessions and B2C opportunities, ATF 2024 will feature a range of exciting side events.
MMPRC continues to elevate Maldives as the most preferred tourist destination in key markets. By forging strategic partnerships with key industry players such as NHGAM, MMPRC aims to penetrate promising markets, tap new segments and increase visitor numbers. This collaboration is expected to significantly increase tourist arrivals, contributing to the growth of Maldives’ tourism industry and strengthening its position as a leading global tourist destination.
