The Tekkars Resort Cup 2024 (Dhaalu Zone) came to an emotional close on August 7, with Baglioni Maldives emerging victorious after a tense final against Sun Siyam Viru Reef. The tournament, held at Sun Siyam Iru Veli, showcased exceptional talent and sportsmanship from all the teams that participated.
Three teams – Baglioni Maldives, San Siyam Iru Veli and San Siyam Viru Reef – competed in an intense tournament from 1st to 7th August 2024. The final was a close match that went into a dramatic penalty shootout.
Baglioni Maldives displayed exceptional skill and composure under pressure to emerge victorious in the penalty shootout with a score of 6 – 5. The man of the match was Abdul Wahid Ibrahim of Baglioni Maldives, who was awarded the MVP award for his exceptional performance.
In addition to the wins, several individual awards were also presented during the tournament. Ahmed Rilwan of Baglioni Maldives was recognised as the Best Coach in the Dhaalu Zone. The Fair Team Play award was also presented to San Siyam Iru Veli who displayed exemplary sportsmanship throughout the competition.

The tournament’s top scorer was Mohamed Mandoo of San Siyam Viru Reef with an impressive 6 goals, while the MVP award went to Abdul Wahid Ibrahim of Baglioni Maldives for his immense contribution to his team’s success.
The runner-up in the Teketzu Resort Cup 2024 in Dar Zoon was San Siyam Vil Leaf who showed great talent and determination throughout the tournament.
Going forward, the next hosting location for the Tekketu Resort Cup will be Baa Atoll, with the tournament scheduled to begin on August 10, 2024.
The Tekuquets Resort Cup not only highlighted Dahl Zone talent, but also fostered camaraderie among the participating teams and enhanced the spirit of sportsmanship that characterizes the event.
