Electronic funds transfer network (net) announced NETS Soft POSis a new payment solution that enables retailers to accept contactless payments using Android smart devices.
This eliminates the need for traditional payment terminals and provides more cost-effective and flexible payment options.
The NETS SoftPOS app, available on Google Play Store, enables merchants to accept payments via cards, QR codes and mobile payment methods.
Supported payment options include NETS ATM/Debit Cards, NETS Prepaid Cards, major international card schemes, QR payments from local banks such as DBS, OCBC and UOB, and a range of overseas banks and wallet apps from countries such as China, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand.
NETS SoftPOS aims to lower the barriers for retailers looking to meet growing consumer demand for contactless payment options.
The solution eliminates the need for additional terminals and allows businesses to seamlessly integrate payment processing into their existing operations.
The app is compatible with most Android devices, including POS hardware and tablets, providing flexibility for merchants who don’t want to use their personal mobile devices.
Several businesses from various sectors, including food and beverage and retail, are already taking part in the pilot scheme.
“NETS SoftPOS provides retailers with a cost-effective payment solution that allows them to accept payments anytime, anywhere at no extra cost.
By leveraging existing smart devices such as mobile and tablet, we provide retailers with a payment option whilst maintaining the same high security standards for contactless transactions.”
