Thank you, patient readers, for worrying about my “big life event” (I didn’t win the lottery or get married). What is required is dealing with a multitude of interrelated project management issues, including sunk costs. I hope life has prepared me for such issues. If I ever need help (which I doubt, but you can accept my limited time temporarily), I will reach out. Thank you! In the meantime, if I wanted to share details, I would have. So please, no speculation. And feel free to talk about the 2024 election in the comments as much as you like. Just be nice! –lambert
Today’s Bird Song
The caterpillar is in the same family as mockingbirds and thrushes, the Auciferidae, and readers have told me they love their mimicry, so I’m hopeful that the MacCaulay Library will have enough recordings to satisfy us all, at least for a while.

More specifically, small ongoing donations help us save money and we take them into account when setting our fundraising goals.
