Jumeirah Olhahali Island has announced the appointment of Nurmaningshih Tejapermana, better known as Chef Nonkee, as the Maldives resort’s new Executive Chef.
Chef Nongki is a veteran member of Jumeirah with over 20 years of distinguished experience in the luxury hospitality industry, having accumulated a wealth of knowledge through senior roles at some of the premier international destinations and acclaimed properties, including Jumeirah Burj Al Arab and Jumeirah Emirates Towers, Dubai. She has worked for leading resorts, cruises and airlines across several continents, from the Maldives to the UAE, Spain, Sri Lanka, UK and Australia, demonstrating her deep commitment to culinary excellence, exploration and innovation.
In her new role, Chef Nongky will lead the resort’s culinary operations, infusing each dish with her unique creativity and international flair. A native of Indonesia and a seasoned professional qualified with some of the world’s most prestigious hotel chains, including Jumeirah, Four Seasons, Shangri-La and Mandarin Oriental Group, Chef Nongky is renowned for creating unforgettable dining experiences that are not only unique to the destination, but also emblematic of five-star service.

At Jumeirah Olhahali Island, Chef Nongki will lead the culinary vision for the resort’s four waterfront dining outlets. Guests will enjoy a new experience at the award-winning Kate, which serves up a fusion of Japanese and Peruvian cuisine in a relaxed setting. Known for its Mediterranean and Greek flavours, Simmers will delight guests with handcrafted artisanal pizzas served in a blissful beach club atmosphere, while Glow will continue to offer global flavours with an emphasis on health-conscious options in its all-day dining. In addition to these signature restaurants, Chef Nongki will also oversee a wide range of curated set menus, including Maldivian, Indian and Middle Eastern cuisine, ensuring that every meal at Jumeirah Olhahali Island is a celebration of taste and artistry.
