“Unfortunately, many businesses are being induced to buy packaging that falsely claims to be plastic-free or ban-compliant, which is extremely frustrating and often costly for businesses trying to do the right thing,” Lindsay said.
The Boomerang Alliance website says greenwashing and misinformation can mislead companies: “Many products claim to be plastic-free or ban-compliant, but in fact they are not.”
The website also provides resources to help businesses become more sustainable, as well as a brief overview of which bans apply to which states.
